ADMISSION PROCEDURE AND ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR B.TECH ADMISSION


1. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA.

The candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria as given in clause 1.1 to appear in UPSEE. However, the candidates appearing in the qualifying examinations are also eligible to appear, subject to the condition that they must fulfill the eligibility criteria as given in clause 1.1 at the time of counselling.

1.1 ELIGIBILITY TO APPEAR IN UPSEE FOR ADMISSION TO FIRST YEAR OF B.Tech.

(i) The subject combination required in the qualifying examination (intermediate examination of U.P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent) for admission to first year of different courses shall be as follows

(ii) For admission to first year of B.Tech candidate must have clearly passed intermediate examination of U.P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized Board / University without grace in required each compulsory subjects and one optional subject as given in clause 1.1 (i) and securing minimum 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST Category candidates) in aggregate in required three subjects.


Course Compulsory Subjects Anyone of the following Subjects
B.Tech Physics & Mathematics Chemistry/ Bio-Technology /Biology / Technical Vocational subject
1.2 ELIGIBILITY TO APPEAR IN UPSEE FOR ADMISSION TO SECOND YEAR (LATERAL ENTRY) of B.Tech.

(i) Lateral entry in “B.Tech. for Engineering Diploma holders or B.Sc. Graduates with Mathematics as one of the subject at XII standard”is open only in the institutions affiliated to AKTU, Lucknow. Candidate who have passed qualifying exam from other than Uttar Pradesh State and whose parents are not domicile of UP State are not eligible for Direct admission to second year of B.Tech(Lateral Entry).

(ii) Candidates who have passed three years Engineering Diploma from an Institution located in U.P. with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) OR whose parents (Father or mother) are domicile of Uttar Pradesh‟ and he/she has passed three years Engineering Diploma with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) recognized by the Board of Technical Education, U.P., in any branch of Engineering (except Agriculture Engg., Pharmacy and Architecture), are eligible for admission to Second year in any branch of Engineering / Technology.

(iii) Candidates who have passed three years B.Sc. degree and passed XII standard with mathematics as one of the subject' from any recognized University; securing minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) in aggregate, are also eligible for admission to second year in any branch of Engineering/ Technology. These candidates shall be considered only after filling the supernumerary seats in this category with the candidates belonging to the Diploma stream. The candidates belonging to B.Sc. Stream shall clear the subjects Engineering Graphics/ Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the first year Engineering programmed along with the second-year subjects.

2. UPSEE Counselling Procedure
Step 1 – Registration & Payment of counselling fee.
Step 2 – Document verification.
Step 3 – Filling of choices.
Step 4 – Seat allotment result.
Step 5 – Online willingness by the candidates.

Step 1 – Registration & Payment of counselling fee: Candidates will have to register by using their application number and password. Once registered, candidates will be required to pay the specified counselling fee in online mode via debit card/ credit card or net banking.

Step 2 – Document verification: Candidates will have to upload the necessary documents and get them verified. The file size must be 200 KB while uploading. The list of documents is given below.

• UPSEE Admit Card
• UPSEE Rank Card
• Class XII Certificate & marks sheet
• Rural weightage certificate if applicable
• Domicile certificate
• Domicile certificate of his/ her parents (Father OR Mother) if the candidate has passed qualifying examination from outside of U.P
• Character certificate
• Certificate of Medical Fitness/ Undertaking of Medical Fitness
• Domicile certificate, if applicable.
• Category certificate for OBC/SC/ST, if applicable
• Subcategory certificate for Freedom fighters/Armed forces/ Physically handicapped as applicable
• Income certificate for economically weak candidates
• GDDA category certificate, if applicable
• Other Documents required (only if applicable)
• After document verification, candidates will be given a One-time-password (OTP) to login for choice filling

Step 3 – Filling of choices: Candidates will have to fill in their choice of colleges and courses in the order of their priority during choice filling. Candidates must fill as many choices as possible.
Step 4 – Seat allotment result: On the basis of choice filling, merit list and available of seats, candidates will be awarded seat in the B.Tech programmed.
Step 5 – Online willingness by the candidates: In this step, candidates will have to select three options to confirm seat allotment - Freeze, Float and Withdrawal.
Freeze – Candidates can choose to freeze their seat allotted if they are satisfied.
Float – – Candidates can hold on to the seat allotted and ask for upgradation in this case.
Withdrawal – – Candidates can leave the seat allotted and can choose not participate in the further admission procedure.
3.1 ELIGIBILITY FOR DIRECT ADMISSION TO FIRST YEAR IN PRIVATE INSTITUTIONS AT INSTITUTE LEVEL UNDER MANAGEMENT QUOTA.

(i) The 15% seats in private institutions shall be filled by the Management quota at institute level under management quota as per eligibility criteria. The vacant seats in Management quota or vacant seats after counselling of UPSEE shall be filled strictly in following preference order, within fifteen days of the last date of counselling:
(1) Firstly, by the qualified candidates fulfilling the eligibility for B.Tech. Their relative merit will be decided on their rank in respective entrance examinations.
(2) Secondly, by the qualified candidates of UPSEE, who fulfill the eligibility. Their relative merit will be decided on their rank in UPSEE.
(3) Thirdly, by the merit of candidates in qualifying examination as laid down by All India Council of Technical Education, New Delhi for admission to various programmed which are updated from time to time.

(ii) Institute shall ensure filling of these vacant seats inviting the applications through advertisement in at least two leading newspapers of the State level and Institute website, giving at least one-week time to submit the applications on the University Portal. Admissions shall be strictly based mentioned above. However, applicants opting B.Arch. course under this category has to appear in Aptitude Test on the day of counselling to be notified later. IN ANY CASE NO PRIVATE INSTITUTION IS ALLOWED TO GIVE ADMISSION IN MORE THAN 25% SEATS TO STUDENTS FROM STATE OTHER THAN UTTAR PRADESH

3.2 ELIGIBILITY FOR DIRECT ADMISSION (LATERAL ENTRY) TO SECOND YEAR IN PRIVATE INSTITUTIONS UNDER VACANT SEATS.

The vacant seats in B.Tech.course after UPSEE counselling for lateral entry (second year) shall be filled within 15 days of the last date of counselling at institute level, firstly by the qualified candidates of UPSEE, who fulfill the eligibility. Their relative merit will be decided on their rank in UPSEE. Thereafter, the vacant seats, if any, will be filled on merit by such candidates who have passed the qualifying examination securing minimum 45% (40% for SC/ST) for B.Tech Institute shall ensure the filling of these seats by inviting the applications through advertisement in at least two leading newspapers of state and institute website and give at least one-week time to submit the applications.
